After Miss Julie
Time & Location
About the Event
July 1945. A country house in England. Celebrations are in full swing for the Labour Party’s landslide election victory.
With her father in London, the lady of the house, Miss Julie, descends to join the servants’ party and seek out John, her father’s chauffeur. Emboldened by drink and the liberation signalled by the new government, the pair test the limits of their potential freedom. Set on the cusp of sweeping social change, Patrick Marber’s updating of Strindberg’s 'Miss Julie' explores the timeless and universal issues of class and sexual desire. Following their critically acclaimed production of Duet for One, Aspect Theatre return to The Attic to present this classic piece of British theatre.
